HPCL joins Tata Power to have electric vehicle charging stations at petrol pumps

HPCL has formed an alliance with Tata Power

Tata Power has signed a MoU with Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited or HPSL. As a result, Tata Power will set up end-to-end charging stations for electric vehicles at Hindustan Petroleum's petrol pumps near multiple cities and major highways across the country.

According to the agreement, Tata Power will provide the infrastructure for charging stations at HPCL's petrol pumps for electric vehicle users. The Tata Power EZ mobile application will be enabled with these charging stations. As a result, the location of the charging station, tariff, charging status, etc. can be known with the help of the app.

At the moment, Tata Power's charging stations are present at petrol pumps, metro stations, shopping malls, theaters and highways in more than 100 cities in India. The company is also present in various segments of EV (Electric Vehicle) ecosystem - public charging, captive charging, home, workplace charging and ultra-rapid charging for electric buses.

The country needs a large number of charging stations to facilitate the passage of electric vehicles. So that even if you go out with an electric car like a traditional car, you don't have to worry about mileage. More people will be encouraged to buy eco-friendly EVs if petrol pumping infrastructure is developed. In that case, the partnership between Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited and Tata Power could play a big role.
